The 501st is a youth led BSA venturing crew in Summerville, SC formed to enable 14-21 year olds realize their full potential in their individual and group interest areas while developing their leadership and team skills.  If you enjoy service to others, helping further youth activities within our council, and going on outdoor adventures into the mountains this may be the place for you.

Crew 501 focuses a lot of their time giving back to our fellow scout brothers and sisters and serving the community.  A majority of youth members staff our local summer camp, many for more than one year.  They have helped implement and build many projects at many of the Lowcountry's beautiful natural wonders including Dorchester County Parks, most recently rebuilding the Rosebrock park entrance sign and a nature storewalk at Beidler Forest.

Crew members take part monthly in Feed Berkeley County's food drives every 2nd Saturday of each month.

Crew 501 has also partnered with Tread Lightly to release a series of posters to public land managers in South Carolina.  Members worked with cubs from Pack

700 to list their most important guidelines for the poster.
